Favorites: February 2014

As each month ends, I’ll share 5 of my favorite products from that month. Think of these posts as recommendations of a handful of great beauty items!

Here are my favorites from February:

1: Too Faced The Chocolate Bar Eye Palette: Everyone has been raving about this palette since its release and for lots of good reasons. Namely because the eye shadow colors are gorgeous and richly pigmented and the whole thing smells like chocolate. This palette is the neutral eye shadow lover’s dream. I choose between purchasing The Chocolate Bar and Urban Decay’s Naked 3 and I’m certain I made the right choice.

2: Boscia Makeup Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil: I never met a cleansing oil I liked until I tried this little delight. I’m a fan of every Boscia product I’ve ever used and this one is no exception. It melts away makeup - even heavy-duty concealer and hard to remove mascara - with ease. There’s no need to tug on the skin or use a washcloth. Just your hands, hot water and a pump of this product will do the trick.

3: Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo in Nude Compliment: This shade was released as part of Maybelline’s Dare to Go Nude collection. Nude Compliment is a deliciously smoky taupe with just a hint of shimmer laced throughout it. It’s a perfect shade to wear concentrated on the lid and washed out into the crease for an effortless, but polished eye look.

4: Josie Maran Argan Oil Hair Serum: I still haven’t gotten a haircut because I’m lazy, so serums and oils continue to be my hair’s best friends. This serum is lightweight, but still super nourishing and it comes packaged with a convenient pump.

5: Ripe Coffee Lip Scrub: I discovered Ripe on Etsy thanks to this xoJane article. I immediately ordered the shop’s Coffee Lip Scrub because I pretty much gave up drinking coffee over a month ago and this is lip scrub became my only connection to my former java drinking life. This lip scrub is packed with natural oils, shea butter and cocoa butter to provide lots of hydration. And coffee grounds make it a scrub. Right now, Ripe isn’t selling this variation of its scrub, but a handful of other great scents and flavors are available. Just browsing the gorgeous photos is worth a trip to the Etsy shop.
