Favorites: February 2013

As each month ends, I’ll share 5 of my favorite products from that month. Think of these posts as recommendations of a handful of great beauty items!

Here are my favorites from February:

1: MAC Veronica Opulash Mascara in Bad, Bad Black: Not only is the packaging on this mascara adorable, but the product itself is incredible! This is my first MAC mascara and I’m impressed. There’s a part of me that wants to head to my MAC counter before the Archie’s Girls collection disappears so I can snatch up a few of these.

2: Tarte Smooth Operator Micronized Clay Finishing Powder: I’ve never been a loose powder girl. I prefer pressed powders like - let’s all say it together - MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural, but I’m biting my tongue now. This powder from Tarte is great! It’s not messy and it doesn’t leave a white cast. It sets my makeup and keeps it in place and gives my skin a smooth finish. I’m a fan!

3: Real Techniques Powder Brush: I use this wonderful soft and fluffy brush with the Tarte powder. It distributes the powder evenly across my face and doesn’t disturb, smudge or otherwise mess with the makeup that’s already been applied.

4: Juice Beauty Cleansing Milk: This creamy, but lightweight cleanser whisks away dirt, makeup and oil in a snap. It’s super gentle (and sometimes I even use it on my eye area to remove makeup – Shh!). It’s a perfect everyday cleanser.

5: Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre: In February, I caught that inevitable winter cold and it left the skin around my nose and lips looking a bit haggard. Luckily, this product healed the cracked skin. It’s lightweight, but very moisturizing and can be worn under makeup. I even applied it over makeup a few times and it didn’t leave any sort of residue on the skin. It’s a perfect solution for dry winter skin.
