Review: Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Dark Circle Roller

Prominent dark circles keep me on my toes searching for a great concealer to hide those bad boys. The Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Dark Circle Roller piqued my interest thanks to reviews raving about this product’s ability to camouflage dark circles with a quick swipe. I decided to give it a try hoping it would deliver the same instant results it offered to the ladies who used it before me. Well, it didn’t and I labeled the product as over hyped.

After months of pushing the roller aside as I searched through my drawer of tinted moisturizers and concealers, I decided to give it another try. This time, I used it as an under eye highlight, instead of a concealer. Garnier claims that this product instantly corrects and conceals dark circles, but for my dark circles this product doesn’t offer enough coverage. Plus, it’s only available in one color so choosing a different shade isn’t an option.

For me, it works best when applied over a concealer. I usually pair it with a drugstore favorite, the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. I apply the roller over the concealer to highlight and brighten the area. Since it’s infused with caffeine, the product helps to refresh the under eye area and soothe puffy skin. Since I began using this product as a highlight instead of a concealer, it’s become a constant in my make-up routine.
This product works well to highlight my dark circles and while it doesn’t offer coverage, it does lighten the area allowing the sallow coloring to look less prominent. If you’ve got this product floating around in your make-up collection like I did, you may want to try it as a highlight, if it doesn’t work as an under eye concealer for you.

Price: $10 to $12
